Spotlight on… Operations Leader Chakella Johnson

Today, the spotlight is on Chakella Johnson. She’s the Operations Leader at DentalWorks Memphis Park Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. She joined the DentalOne family six months ago. Let’s dive into her Q. and A.!

Q: Why did you choose to join the DentalOne family? And what sets DentalOne apart from other organizations?

A: I chose this company because of the great pay and greater opportunities for career growth!! DentalOne does what it says it will do. That sets them apart in my eyes.

Q: What three words would you use to describe your role and why?

A: Integrity, because I believe it’s important to be honest with your team even when it’s not the easy road. Professional, because I take pride in my work as well as work appearances. Positive, because having a positive attitude sets the tone in the practice.

Q: As a leader, how do you keep your team motivated and excited about providing top-notch patient care?

A: Playing competitive games and staying positive helps everyone successfully care for our patients.

Q: What advice would you give to others who are considering accepting a position to manage a dental practice as an Operations Leader with DentalOne?

A: Stay strong and hold your ground, but still listen.

Q: What’s been your most memorable moment while working for DentalOne?

A: Our monthly Operations Leaders meetings are always a blast.

Q: What makes your team unique?

A: We actually like each other, LOL.

Q: If you had to describe your team in one word, what would it be and why?

A: Family, because we have each other’s back.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I feel like I’m the glue that holds everything together. Even on tough days, I encourage my team and help them remember that this too will pass. I tell them, “Tomorrow is another opportunity to be great and make a patient’s day.”

Q: What is your motto or personal mantra?

A: Treat others the way you truly want to be treated.

Q: What do our patient pillars (schedule, wallet and patient friendly) mean to you?

A: As I always say, I treat patients as though they are my family members. I am honest with them. Patient satisfaction is key to a successful practice.
